Happy Thirsty Thursday! We're doing shots tonight! Caramel Apple Jello Shots anyone? This delicious idea is made with real apples and tastes like real caramel apples. I was perusing through Pinterest and found this perfect recipe from That's so Michelle. Yes, this is so me and this is so The Sweetest Temptation! Yum! Let's do this!
Here's what you need:
10 Small Granny Smith Apples
1 Packet of Knox Gelatin
1/2 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Coconut Milk
2 Drops Yellow Food Coloring
1 Packet of Land O Lakes Caramel Hot Chocolate
1/4 Cup Butterscotch Schnapps
Lemon Juice
Here's what you need to do:
Cut apples in half and then scoop out the inside to make it hollow with melon baller
Squeeze lemon juice on top
Arrange halves on a cookie sheet
Mix 1/2 cup water with packet of hot chocolate in a medium sized sauce pan and whisk, whisk, whisk!
Add 1/2 cup of coconut milk and whisk, whisk, whisk!
Sprinkle gelatin on top and let sit for a 3 minutes
Turn on low heat and mix the gelatin until you can't mix anymore
Add 1/4 cup sugar and simmer for 1-3 minutes
Add drops of food coloring until the color is a caramel brown
Let mixture cool and then add the 1/2 cup of butterscotch schnapps
Pour mixture into the apple halves
Refrigerate overnight
Cut halves into quarters and cut the quarters into halves again
Serve immediately and enjoy!
