Batty Halloween Oreos

I don't know about you but I've been having so much fun doing all of these Halloween candy crafts all month long!  My latest creation that I'm dying to share with you is the one and only Batty Halloween Oreos!  Bats are big into Halloween and you should be too.  Honor those bats by making some edible batty Oreos!

Supplies

Oreos

Candy Corn

Frosting

Marshmallows

Food coloring pen

Cake pop sticks (optional)

Instructions

1.  Carefully twist the Oreos in half to separate both sides of the cookie (cream side wins!)

2.  Once Oreos are separated, use a knife to cut two edges of the Oreos to create the bat wings.  If they don't come out perfect, don't worry, you can bite off a piece to maintain the half moon shape.

3.  Place the two wings on the cream side of the Oreo

4.  Squeeze about a quarter size of frosting into the middle of the cookie, between the wings

5.  Place other half of Oreo on top of the frosting and wings

6.  Take two mini marshmallows, draw a dot for the eyeball with the food coloring pen, and then put a dab of frosting on the bottom of the marshmallow so they will stick to the top of the cookie

7. Once eyes are secured, dab a bit of frosting on a piece of Candy Corn and place pointy side downwards to create the nose

8.  If you'd like to make these cookies into cookie pops, insert cake pop stick into the bottom of the bat face, but this is totally optional!

I hope you enjoy making these Batty Halloween Oreos as much as I did!  And eating them too!  They're a fun and easy sweet treat to bring to a Halloween party and make with children.  Get batty!  Happy Halloween!

Spooky Hot Chocolate

Since Halloween is just a little over a week away, you might as well be doing something spooky everyday to put you in the mood, so why not make and drink some Spooky Hot Chocolate?  You'll have so much fun drawing ghost faces on the marshmallows, watching them float in your hot chocolate, and drinking them up as they melt!  It will get you into the Halloween mood real fast!  Here's what you need to know about making your hot chocolate spooky:

Supplies

Hot chocolate

Ghost shaped marshmallows (available at Target)

Black food coloring pen (available on Amazon)

Instructions

1.  Draw funny, spooky, serious, or any type of face you want on the ghost marshmallows with the black food coloring pen
2. Drop the marshmallows face up in the hot chocolate and put as many as you'd like in the cup
3.  Drink and enjoy!

This fun and simple project takes no time at all and it's so fun to draw on your food!  I've never drawn faces on my food before, but I'm loving my new food coloring pens!  It's such a fun idea for baking and making sweet treats and I didn't know they were even a thing until I stumbled upon them on Amazon.  They come in all different colors, so you should go ahead and buy whatever color you'd like for a way to easily decorate something sweet!  Give kids a pen and marshmallow and let them go wild, they'll love it!  Happy Halloween!

Candy Corn Oreo Spider Cookies

We're halfway through October now, so we're halfway to Halloween!  I love seeing black and orange everything, pumpkins, and decorated houses.  It's so fun to get into the spirit!  Nothing gets me into the Halloween holiday spirit like making DIY candy projects!  Today, I decided to make Candy Corn Oreo Spider Cookies, and they turned out great!  I listened to some spooky jams and made my masterpieces, and now I'll share the step by step to how you can make them yourself.

Ingredients

Oreos

Orange icing

Candy Corn

Instructions

1.  With a large knife, slice Candy Corn into halves.

They will look like this when turned right side up:

2.  Twist the Oreos apart and eat the half with less cream.  You'll need two Oreo cookie halves with cream on them for each cookie, so the Candy Corn will stick.  Talk about double stuffed!

3.  Place halved pieces of Candy Corn on top of the Oreo cream filling, three on each side.

4.  Place an additional cream Oreo half on top to complete the cookie.

5.  Add two dots of orange icing to the top of the Oreo to make eyes.

Make as many as you'd like and share with your family, friends, or coworkers!  Don't worry, they don't bite, you'll just bite them!  These don't take long to make and are a perfect party snack that are super spooky and festive!  Now it's your turn to make them!  If you love Oreos and Candy Corn, these are the cookies for you.  Enjoy!!

Marshmallow Ear Wax Swabs

Happy October!  Hope your month has been spooky so far!  If you're throwing a big monster mash bash, you have to have spooky treats and cocktails for your guests.  I know the list of ingredients needed to throw a party could get long, so to make things more simple, make sure you're serving Marshmallow Ear Wax Swabs!  A gross looking but tasty treat with only two ingredients!  Your guests will love the creativity and will get such a kick out of seeing these on your serving table.  Don't worry, I'll give you the lowdown on the supplies and instructions, but they're so easy to make.

Supplies

Peanut Butter

Mini Marshmallows

Toothpicks

  Instructions

1.  Stick two mini marshmallows on each end of the toothpick

2.  With a butter knife, spread a glob of peanut butter on top of each marshmallow

3.  Repeat until you have enough swabs to display nicely on a platter

Note- you can also use melted chocolate or caramel instead of peanut butter.  Your guests will be completely grossed out with these spooky Halloween treats until they try them, then they won't be able to stop!

Happy Halloween!
